Spotlight on Kahlia Saunders – A Shining Star at Quirindi Care Services
At Quirindi Care Services (QCS), we are fortunate to have Kahlia Saunders as part of our hotel services team. With a little over two years at QCS, Kahlia has become a cherished member of the team, bringing joy, enthusiasm, and a compassionate spirit to everything she does. Kim Riley, the General Manager, sums it up perfectly: “Kahlia is such a wonderful part of our team. She has such a positive attitude. Just spending a small amount of time with Kahlia is a pleasure – her joy, enthusiasm, kindness, and compassion are what make her such a special team member.”
Kahlia’s positive attitude shines through every day. “I turn up every day with a great attitude. I’m happy and positive, and I always do the best I can. I have respect for our residents, my colleagues, and the organisation,” says Kahlia. She brings sunshine to her own world and everyone around her, making QCS a brighter place.
What sets Kahlia apart is her deep connection with the residents of Eloura. She is proud to listen, remember their preferences, and make them feel special. “I know I’m an integral part of the team and that my role is just as important as everyone else’s. I know I make a difference,” Kahlia reflects. Her genuine care for the residents makes Eloura a place where people feel respected and valued.
Kahlia’s favourite part of working at QCS? It’s the relationships she builds with the residents. “Without a doubt, it’s being able to interact with our residents. I love these old fellas, listening to their stories, what they did, and what makes them happy,” she says.
Before joining QCS, Kahlia gained experience across a range of hospitality roles, from being a “gun egg collector” to a deli expert. She has always been in caring roles, looking after her Pop and a neighbour. Four years ago, Kahlia completed her Disability Support Worker Certificate and hopes to explore opportunities in this field in the future.
At QCS, Kahlia finds joy in the small things and loves the team atmosphere. “We have a great atmosphere, and we find joy in the small things,” she says. Her dedication to supporting the residents in living fulfilling lives and her vibrant personality make her a treasured part of the QCS family.
