In every organisation, there’s that one individual who seems to effortlessly hold everything together, like the calm eye of a storm amidst the chaos. At Quirindi Care Services (QCS), we are so blessed to have a bunch of these incredible humans, ensuring all the pieces work together daily. One whom we are blessed to have on our team is the wonderful Mattia ‘Tia’ Charters, the Administration Coordinator and a true all-round superstar at QCS!
In her just over 12 months with QCS, Tia has proven to be an invaluable asset, embodying the spirit of dedication and compassion that defines the organisation.
Upon arriving at QCS, Tia undertook the formidable task of revamping an admission process that simply wasn’t meeting the needs of prospective residents, their families, or our organisation. Recognising the importance of this initial stage in the residents’ journey, Tia dove into the challenge headfirst, determined to create a more efficient and supportive process.
Through Tia’s dedication and tireless efforts, an effective and streamlined admission process was successfully implemented. This new system not only caters to the practical aspects of admission but also prioritises providing emotional support and guidance to individuals and families during this inherently stressful period.
Prospective residents entering Eloura are now met with understanding, compassion, and a guiding hand as they navigate this significant life transition.
When asked about her proudest accomplishment at QCS, Tia highlights her role in supporting incoming residents and their families during this often-stressful admission process. “Being able to support the incoming residents and their families during the admission process, it’s a stressful time and I can help in this part of the journey to lighten their load,” Tia said.
Working at QCS isn’t just a job for Tia—it’s an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. She cherishes the chance to help individuals navigate significant life changes, all while being part of a supportive and inclusive team.
When asked how she feels QCS makes a difference to the community, Tia replied, “The care and compassion that each member brings to the team is incredible. We don’t just open our arms and hearts to residents but also their families who then become a part of our family here at QCS.”
Hailing from central western NSW, Tia’s professional journey has been as diverse as it has been extensive. With a passion for animals and outdoor life, she brings a unique perspective to her role at QCS.
Beyond her professional role, Tia is a passionate traveller with a love for experiencing different cultures from around the world, meeting new people and listening to their life stories. At home, Tia spends her time breeding Alpacas—a hobby that brings her joy and fulfillment.
From the perspective of her colleagues, Tia is much more than an Administration Coordinator. She’s the linchpin that holds the office together, managing administrative staff and tasks, scheduling meetings, handling payroll, and stepping beyond her job description regularly to manage unexpected challenges such as liaising with suppliers and supporting members across the entire team!
Quirindi Care Services is undoubtedly fortunate to have Tia as part of our team. Her dedication, versatility, and unwavering commitment to supporting both residents and staff make her an invaluable asset to the organisation.
